Spectral Theatre's "Late-Night Double Feature" - August '10

Well, ladies and gentlemen, we've come to the end. Here, presented to you, the final set of one-acts for this season of Spectral Theatre's "Late-Night Double Feature"! I wish I could say we were saving the best for last but that wouldn't be entirely true because the whole damn series has been awesome and this is just more of the same kind of awesomeness! This month's offerings will drag us kicking and screaming into a zombie ap...ocalypse then spit us out onto a slow boat to China...a weird, farcical, alternate universe China...sort of. First up...

“The Hunger” written by Chris Schonfeldt.  Directed by Lesli Brownlee.  Featuring Kris Buller, Avery Crane, Suzanne Serwatuk Seeger and Scott Williams.

When four survivors flee civilization to escape the onset of an undead plague they find their fates intertwined in a remote mountain cabin. The outbreak was just the beginning. In the end, there will only be the hunger.

followed by

“The Fiendish Plots of Mao” written by Simon C. Hussey and Seth Little.  Directed by Simon C. Hussey. Featuring Seth Little, David Quast, Stephanie Dyck, Aurora Chan, Vaughn Jones, Matthew Lazin-Ryder and Garett Doran Moran.

In this sequel to last summer's "Giganticle" we pick up with Petunia and her uncle, Professor Englebert Ogilvy, as they attempt to retrieve the plans for the "electro-growth stimulator machine" from the clutches of Chairman Mao's evil henchwoman Wang Zhaojun. As their search takes them deep into the heart of Red China they uncover a conspiracy so fiendish and diabolical it could only come from the mind of a "pinko"! Intrigue (*cough*) and adventure (HA!!!) abound in this homage to the screwball adventure comedies of the '60's and '70's.
